REACH compliance should be a top priority for Engineers in 2016

The European Union’s REACH directive (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) placed responsibility on industry to manage the risks that chemicals may pose human health and environment. As a result a number of processes, such as Hexavalent Chromium, or Chrome-6, have been condemned and in the process of being phased out.

Being REACH compliant is no mean feat and requires a number of expertise; health and safety, chemical, legal and, eventually, engineering.
